Zinedine Zidane thinks Messi and Ronaldo are good, but his fellow Frenchman Franck Ribery is the best player in the world.

Real Madrid have seldom been out of the headlines this summer thanks to their record-breaking spending spree which has brought star players like Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo to the Bernabeu.

One more prime target remains for Los Blancos though: Bayern Munich's Franck Ribery.

Ribery has publically stated his desire for a move to Madrid, but his current employers are pulling all the stops to prevent his departure.

Former Real Madrid and France legend Zinedine Zidane, who now advises Real president Florentino Perez, has praised Ribery, singling him out as the best player in the world.

"There are very good footballers in the world, like Cristiano Ronaldo or [Lionel] Messi, but the best for me is Ribery," said Zidane.

"And I am not saying that because he is French, but because he is very good."

Zidane also blasted the use of the ‘Galacticos' tag, which he feels negatively affected the team during his time with the club.

"The president of Real wants the best players for his team, but he should not call them galacticos," argued the three-time World Player of the Year.

"I remember that we were called galacticos when [David] Beckham, [Luis] Figo, Ronaldo and I were playing and the result was very negative.

"People should say they are the best and that is it."
